On Saturday, Vald. Birn A/S celebrated its 125th anniversary in the Holstebro Music Theater for 800 accompanying employees.
Vald. Birn Group, which is Northern Europe's largest foundry groups, celebrated its 125th anniversary on Saturday with a big party for the employees and their partners at the Holstebro Music Theater. The party was originally planned for May 2021, but due to the corona pandemic the party was postponed. However, this did not make the celebration any less festive, and with elements from, among others, Jan Gintberg, there were both laughs and stories from the good old days.
The postponement also meant that the newly appointed Group CEO, Claus Beier could participate and, together with the chairman of the board, Erik Lundtoft, they welcomed the many participants:
- I cannot take credit for the planning of the party, but I must say that I am glad that I had the opportunity to participate. I have been extremely well received by the employees, and on Saturday I had the opportunity to greet many both current and retired employees who could tell many exciting stories, says Claus Beier and continues:
- The Vald. Birn Group is a renowned, Danish industrial group, and not many companies are able to celebrate their 125th anniversary. But even though we have a long history, we are certainly not out of date or unambitious. On the contrary. We have many strong and competitive products and some highly competent employees with a unique know-how.
No less than 800 people participated in the celebration on Saturday night, and it was a good mix of current employees, retired employees with a minimum of 10 years seniority, partners, board and management member from the group's other companies, including Tasso A/S in Odense, Uldalls Jernstøberi A/S in Vejen, Kockums Maskin AB in Sweden and Vald. Birn GmbH in Germany.
Vald. Birn has a strong culture and community and has, among other things, a pensioners' club that meets regularly. Vald. Birn A/S was founded in May 1896 by Heinrich Peter Christian Birn.
