After a challenging 2024, BIRN Group is back in profit. The 2025 financial statements show a profit after tax of EUR 1.74 million, compared to a loss of EUR 4.7 million the previous year. In particular, the development at BIRN in Holstebro played a decisive role in the year’s results with the company significantly improving earnings and turning losses into profits. The results have also been marked by an extraordinary bonus for all employees at BIRN in Holstebro.

BIRN Group, one of Northern Europe’s largest foundry groups, is back in profit after a year of improved stability and rising activity in the group’s key markets.

This is evident from the recently published annual report for 2025, in which the group reports a profit after tax of EUR 1.74 million, compared to a loss of EUR 4.7 million in 2024. At the same time, revenue rose by 2.7% to EUR 167 million compared to the previous year.

- We are pleased with this year’s results. After a difficult 2024, we have managed to achieve a significant improvement, and this is primarily due to strong collaborative efforts across the organization. We have remained true to our core values, our stability in production, and our focus on quality and delivery reliability – even during periods of great market uncertainty, says Group CEO Flemming Juel Jensen.

In particular, the development at the parent company BIRN in Holstebro have had a major impact on this year’s results. Here, the company has gone from a significant deficit in 2024 to a solid surplus in 2025.

- We have worked purposefully to improve production and create stable operations without constantly having to scale up and down. This results in fewer errors, higher efficiency, and greater delivery reliability for our customers. At the same time, we see that our customers continue to highly value high quality, integrity, and a strong focus on ESG and sustainability, says Flemming Juel Jensen.

Market Stabilization
Among other things, BIRN Group supplies cast iron components to the truck industry, which remains the Group’s most important market. After several years of significant fluctuations and uncertainty, the Group is now experiencing a more stable market.

- The market has been more stable in 2025 compared to previous years. We find that customers continue to work with us because we deliver on time and are a stable, long-term partner – both operationally and financially, says Flemming Juel Jensen.

The BIRN Group consists of the companies BIRN in Holstebro, TASSO in Odense, ULDALL in Vejen, as well as BIRN Germany in Germany, KOCKUMS MASKIN in Sweden, and TASSO BERNAREGGI in Italy.

Bonus for employees
According to the Group CEO, the efforts of the employees in Holstebro are a key reason for the significant improvement in this year’s results. Therefore, the company has chosen to recognize the employees by paying an extraordinary bonus to all employees in Holstebro.

- The results are thanks to our employees. Team spirit and solidarity have been absolutely crucial to our success in turning things around, and we want to acknowledge that. That is why all employees at the parent company will receive the same bonus amount as a thank you for their extraordinary efforts throughout the year, says Flemming Juel Jensen.

Although the market remains characterized by geopolitical tensions and uncertainty surrounding international trade, the BIRN Group expects further improvement in 2026. Therefore, the Group is continuing its planned and extensive investments in both production and the work environment to strengthen competitiveness and prepare the company for future growth.

- We expect this positive trend to continue throughout 2026. That is why we are continuing to make significant investments in our companies - including in new equipment that both improves the work environment and increases capacity, says Flemming Juel Jensen.

In 2025, the BIRN Group invested a total of EUR 8.9 million in facilities and production equipment.
